Caregivers of Loved Ones with Leukemia and LymphomaIf you are a family member or close friend of a person diagnosed with leukemia or lymphoma, you may very well be helping to provide for his or her daily care. A caregiver is someone who gives basic care to a person with a medical condition that prevents the patient from independently conducting the activities of daily living. Caregiving for a leukemia or lymphoma patient may mean helping the person with bathing, dressing, preparing and eating meals, taking medicine, attending doctor’s appointments, paying bills, and attending to other tasks of daily living. Leukemia and lymphoma is challenging not only to the patient, but also for loved ones helping the patient with their daily care. Caregivers also deserve care, support, and resources.
