Support Groups

Here is some information about caregiver support groups, cancer support groups, and other groups helpful to caregivers of leukemia and lymphoma patients.

American Cancer Society – www.cancer.org
This organization’s Web site provides links to American Cancer Society support groups in locations around the country.

Anderson Network – www.mdanderson.org
The Anderson Network is a cancer support group of more than 1,300 current and former patients. It also offers a patient and caregiver support line at 1-800-345-6324.

CancerCare- www.cancercare.org
CancerCare support groups are offered by telephone, face-to-face, and online. The support groups are available to both patients and their caregivers. Face-to-face groups are available in New York City, Long Island, and in Norwalk, Connecticut. For more information on the support groups, call 1-800-813-HOPE (4673).

Cancer Hope Network – www.cancerhopenetwork.org
This non-profit organization provides free and confidential one-on-one support to cancer patients and family members with trained volunteers who have themselves undergone a similar cancer experience. They can also be reached toll-free at 1-877-HOPENET.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Family Support Group Program – www.leukemia-lymphoma.org
This organization offers 230 groups across the U.S. that are free to anyone affected by a blood cancer. To find a family support group near you, contact either your local society chapter or The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at 1-800-955-4572.

Well Spouse Foundation – www.wellspouse.org
This national, non-profit membership organization gives support to wives, husbands and partners of the chronically ill and/or disabled. It publishes a newsletter and sponsors local support groups that meet monthly. To contact a support group near you, or to learn how to start a group, call 1-800-838-0879.
