Multiple Myeloma: SymptomsThe most common symptom of multiple myeloma is bone pain, typically in the back or chest and, in some cases, in the arms and legs. Weakness and fatigue are also symptoms in patients with multiple myeloma cancer who also suffer from anemia. It is not uncommon for a person to have no symptoms at the time of their diagnosis. For example, patients with smoldering multiple myeloma (SMM) typically have no symptoms of disease. Osteosclerotic myeloma may result in such symptoms as pain, burning numbness, weakness, an enlarged liver or spleen, darkening of the skin, and/or an increased growth of body hair.
