The blastic phase of chronic myelogenous leukemia is similar to the more acute forms of leukemia. In the blastic phase, there are 30% or more blast cells present. Fatigue, fever, and an enlarged spleen can result. Doctors refer to these symptoms at the blastic phase as a “blast crisis.”
