This type of treatment may be used after a bone marrow (stem cell) transplantation. Lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell, are supplied by a donor. The lymphocytes, once introduced to the patient’s bloodstream, “attack” the cancerous cells. Much like bone marrow transplantation, the lymphocytes are given to the patient through one or more infusions.
